BCU 4 Star Leader Training (Canoe or Kayak)

Through this training course you will tune your personal paddling, leadership techniques and judgment skills in order to lead a group of other paddlers in a “moderate” water environment. (Grade 2 – 3 or open water with up to force 4 winds) A four Star paddler will have the all round paddling ability, safety, rescue and basic leadership skills.

WHO IS THE BCU 4 STAR LEADER TRAINING COURSE FOR?

This course is for those wishing to lead other competent paddlers in a “moderate” water environment. You should already hold the BCU 3 star Award or be operating and comfortable at that level. Please refer to the BCU pre-requisites for this course.

BCU 4 Star Leader Assessment (Canoe or Kayak)

Performance at this level indicates the candidate has the skill level to lead other paddlers in a “moderate” water environment. (Grade 2 – 3 or open water with upto force 2-3 winds)

This discipline specific test is designed to indicate that the candidate has the skill level to safely paddle and lead other competent paddlers on sections of moderate water. A four Star paddler will have the all round paddling ability, safety, rescue and basic leadership required to undertake trips on sheltered to moderate water with a group of paddlers.

WHO IS THE BBCU 4 STAR LEADER ASSESSMENT COURSE FOR?

You should already hold the BCU 3 star award or be operating and comfortable at that level and also hold the White Water Safety and Rescue Training Please refer to the BCU pre-requisites for this course.
