Discover Mountain Scrambling

Scrambling is the transition between hill walking and rock climbing. When hands are used on a steeper more adventurous terrain then you are entering in to the world of mountain scrambling.
Traveling into this terrain sometimes requires more specialist techniques than the average walker may hold. This course focuses on developing those skills so you can venture out alone safely. Your coach will focus on safe movement in steeper ground, route selection and the possible use of the rope. You will also climb some of the Lake Districts finest scrambles.

WHO IS THE DISCOVER MOUNTAIN SCRAMBLING COURSE FOR?

This is a course for those with an adventure spirit wanting to explore the steeper ground the mountains has to offer. No previous scrambling experience is needed, just an urge to explore.

Improvers in Mountain Scrambling

This is an introduction to the higher-grade mountain scrambles and the techniques required to explore them safely. You will climb some of the Lake district classic grade 2 and 3 routes using the rope for security and learn how to safe guard others. Your coach will also cover route selection, guide books and look at technical equipment.

WHO IS THE IMPROVERS IN MOUNTAIN SCRAMBLING COURSE FOR?

You must have cut your teeth on some lower grade scrambles and climbs before booking on to this course.

DURATION: 2 - Days

All courses require a minimum of 4 candidates to run.
Courses with fewer numbers can be arranged. However, there will be a "closed course supplement". Please contact us to discuss prices.
