Shearwater Adventure Training

Our aim is to assist schools and groups in providing professionally delivered and supervised expeditions for young people. If your school or group do not have the resources or the staff to be able to deliver expeditions, our comprehensive service is ideal for making the process easy and enjoyable for everyone involved. We will assist in the completion of paper work, risk assessments and ensure the safe delivery of the expedition by employing only the very best instructional staff.

We will arrange planning visits to meet staff, young people and can be present at parent meetings to help promote programmes and answer questions. Your expedition will be planned with in your requirements, delivered by professional staff, based in some of the UK's most unique venues and will definitely be a memorable experience.

Full Package - from just £315pp

Practice & Training Exped only - £180pp

Qualifying Expedition only - £135pp

(£45pp per day based on 6 participants)
(£60 per day for canoe and cycle expeditions)

The Silver Expedition itinerary:

2-DAY INTENSIVE TRAINING
Based from a bunkhouse or YHA and delivered by our highly qualified and experienced staff these sessions will introduce the essential expedition skills. Teams will plan their Practice Expedition. Under guidance, they will produce a route card for each day.

2-DAY PRACTICE EXPEDITION
This will include 2 overnight camps. Teams will receive additional essential training and guidance by our leaders until they're confident that the teams are ready to support themselves. Once our leaders are happy, the teams will be supervised remotely. On arriving at camp, our leaders will supervise the camping and cooking activities to ensure safety. Each team will be de-briefed by their leader.

3-DAY, 2-NIGHT QUALIFYING EXPEDITION
The qualifying expedition is carried out using remote supervision and assessed by one of  our DofE accredited assessors.

EXTRAS
If required extra days can be arranged to assist and support team in preparing their Qualifying Expedition. Additional days with one of our staff are charged at £160 + expenses.

These are examples of the programmes that we can offer, however we will work with you to design a programme that meet the needs of your group.  This can include extra training or practice expeditions for groups with limited experience.
